The jury of next month's Cannes Film Festival promises an eclectic blend of Hollywood, Bollywood, Europe and Asia. It was announced yesterday that the panel will include Steven Soderbergh and Meg Ryan. This year's jury president will be French director Patrice Chereau.
Elsewhere the list provides a globe-hopping tour of the world's film centres. Also on the panel will be Bollywood star (and former Miss World) Aishwarya Rai, French actor Jean Rochefort and Chinese film-maker Jiang Wen. Other panellists include Bosnian director Danis Tanovic, Italian writer Erri De Luca and French actress Karin Viard.
The selection of films in the running for the Palme d'Or will be announced by festival president Gilles Jacob on 23 April.
